My View of Google

This next week I give a presentation to our computer club on things I like that Google offers. Of course I use the Google search engine, but I also use Google's Image search engine. That can come in handy when trying to find a picture of something in particular. I just found out this week that Google will also let you search blogs. I haven't used that, but it may come in handy.

The other things I like about Google are it's Map and Google Earth. Those are great programs. All are free to download and run on your computer. I also use Google's Picasa, an image manipulation program that is pretty nice for people just getting started with digital cameras. You can clean up the pictures you took very easily.

I also use Google's Blogger, where I write my thoughts from time to time; such as I am doing now. Ok, what else? Oh, Gmail is teriffic. Everyone should have Gmail. Is is a great was to email notes/letters online when you are away from home. Also free. And ---- Google offers a free web site builder, which is also fairly easy. I have one of those web sites.

If you want to start conversations with other people, try looking up Google's Groups. That is a place where people post opinions and facts about most everything. I use that occasionally to find out things related to Quicken, a financial program I use.
